1- What is The Egyptian Libraries Networks (ELN)?
ELN is the first and only Egyptian web site that links automated libraries in Egypt via the Internet, in order to allow searching the libraries’ catalogues in Arabic and English. In addition to establishing links with the non-Egyptian libraries in Egypt.
2- What are the main objectives of the site?
• Serves all types of users, as researchers and academicians … by facilitating the search of different libraries from different Egyptian governorates.

• Allows interlibrary loan and cooperative cataloging between libraries.

• Allows to search libraries catalogues in Arabic and English by: Author, Title, Publisher, Keyword (or a combination of different entries) and gives full bibliographic data for each document.
3- What kind of services is offered through ELN?
• The Union Catalogue: Facilitates the process of searching all the online libraries in one step. This is done by searching a certain entry or combination of different entries, and obtaining the result from all available libraries' catalogs "just in one step".
• A Single Library Search: Searching public, academic, or special libraries. The Search is done per library.
• Egyptian Libraries Directory: You could obtain the contact information and more, as: working hours, library collection …
• Experts Directory: Includes experts in Librarianship field.
• Publishers Directory: Includes the contact information for different publishers in Egypt that are specialized in different fields.
4- How do we search the available libraries?
• Through the simple search that provides searching by author, title, publisher…. Or the advanced search that provides the facility of combining different entries.
5- What results are obtained from the search?
A full bibliographic data of the document (Author, Title, Keyword, publisher, Publication date, call number). Also you could link to The Directory of Egyptian Libraries for obtaining data about the chosen library.
6- What are the requirements for a library to be included in The ELN web site?
• It must be an automated library (automated catalogue)
• Requires web server and software applications (Contact IDSC for more details)
• If any library will not be able to prepare the requirements, IDSC serves these libraries by hosting their databases on IDSC servers.
7- What is the role of the IDSC concerning ELN?
• Maintaining and developing The Egyptian Libraries Network website.
